Baseball-Related Things to Do in Williamsport, PA
If you’re a fan of America’s favorite pastime, then Williamsport, PA has plenty of baseball-related things for you to do! You can learn about the history of Little League and see some really cool collections of memorabilia.
1. Original Field
Begin your visit to Williamsport by stopping by to see the Original Field. This field is where Little League baseball got its start!
It’s been around since the 1940s and is still well-maintained today. We were able to watch a couple of innings of a game last summer when we stopped for a quick visit.
You can wander through the small museum onsite, where photos of previous Little League World Series winning teams are displayed, and learn more about the origins of Little League.
Original Field was finally listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2014, officially commemorating its place in sports history.
2. Little League World Series (LLWS)
If you’ve heard of Williamsport in Pennsylvania, there’s a good chance the reason is because of the Little League World Series, unless you’re close by! One of the most exciting events happening during the year in Williamsport is the Little League World Series.
If you’re lucky enough to be in town during mid-August, don’t miss out on this fun-filled event. The best part? It’s free!
Little League Baseball was born in Williamsport, and it now accommodates youth baseball and softball leagues for kids aged 4-16.
Apart from the games, there are additional activities for all age groups to enjoy in the South Williamsport sports complex. Meet players and coaches from all over the world and sample bites from the many different food vendors.
Even if you’re not a big fan of baseball, the Little League Baseball World Series is an event that you should definitely check out, where kids from all over the world come together to compete for the youth baseball title.
3. World of Little League Museum
Take your baseball experience a step further and check out the World of Little League Museum while in Williamsport. It’s dedicated entirely to the history and culture of Little League baseball – from its beginnings back in 1939 to where it’s headed in the future.
The Little League Museum is right next to the fields used for the LLWS.
Inside, you’ll find tons of exhibits showcasing memorabilia, uniforms, and other artifacts from famous Little League alumni.
They’ve got a running area, a wall you can jump over (if you’re feeling athletic), and even an area where you can test your skills at fielding ground balls!
The museum is open year-round and perfect for both kids and adults.
4. Williamsport Crosscutters Game
If you’re in Williamsport during the summer months, you have to check out a game of the Williamsport Crosscutters.
As the city’s minor league baseball team, they play in the MLB Draft League from June to September at Muncy Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field.
The stadium has been around since 1926 and has plenty of history behind it. It’s the oldest in Pennsylvania and the second-oldest ballpark in minor-league baseball. Plus, with affordable tickets and concessions, it won’t break the bank to enjoy America’s favorite pastime.
The ballpark also hosts the MLB Little League Classic, a major league baseball game played during the Little League World Series each August.

With self-guided tours and small museums, there are plenty of ways to dive into Williamsport’s history. From luxurious historical mansions to lumber history, these are the places in Williamsport you won’t want to miss as a history lover.
5. Millionaires Row
One of the must-see attractions in Williamsport, PA is Millionaires Row. This iconic area has been recognized and preserved now by being on the National Register of Historic Places.
Historically known as the “Lumber Capital of the World,” during its booming years, the ratio of millionaires per person in Williamsport was higher than in any other city in the country. Where you find lots of millionaires, you’ll also find some pretty fancy houses.
It boasts exceptional Victorian-style architecture that dates back to 1855 and is sure to take your breath away.
To get the most out of your visit, tour maps are available for purchase or access online via the Taber Musem. Take a walking tour and enjoy the beautiful mansions along Millionaires Row.
6. Thomas T. Taber Museum
The Thomas T. Taber Museum is a treasure of Lycoming County’s past, showcasing exhibits on everything from Native American history to the lumber industry that helped shape the area.
One of the coolest things about this museum is its collection of model trains – over 300 of them! They even have two working layouts set up for you to enjoy.
The staff members are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and they’re always happy to answer any questions you might have or give you more information about the exhibits. Plus, they sometimes host special events and workshops that are worth checking out.
7. Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat Cruise
Are you looking for a relaxing way to explore Williamsport? Hop a Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat Cruise! Named after the historic boat with the same name, this river cruise offers daily excursions five days a week during the peak summer months.
On the one-hour cruise down the Susquehanna River, you’ll learn about the historical significance of the area and the boat itself
Board from the dock in Susquehanna State Park, right in town. Susquehanna State Park only covers 20 acres, but it protects this important riverfront access. There is a large paved parking area right next to the dock, providing easy access.
Special events are also held throughout the season, including brunch and dinner cruises, princess and superhero events, and private parties.
8. Muncy Historical Society Museum
The Muncy Historical Society Museum is housed in a beautiful 19th-century home and will take you on a journey through the rich history of the region.
The museum covers many aspects of local history, presented in an engaging and informative way, spread over two floors. From art to local artifacts, the exhibits are always changing.
Outdoor history is also preserved with Muncy Heritage Park and Nature Trail. Following along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, you can learn about the locks and how they were supposed to further logging and industry in the area.
With expert narration and seasonal demonstrations, you’ll gain a better understanding of how canal locks helped boats travel across different elevations.
9. Community Arts Center
The Community Arts Center showcases a diverse range of musical performers from various parts of the country, offering an exceptional live entertainment experience.
Whether you’re a fan of theater, music, or visual arts, this center has fun events to experience throughout the year.

10. Covered Bridges in Lycoming County
If you’re a fan of history and architecture, Lycoming County has got you covered – literally!
In this picturesque region of Pennsylvania surrounding Williamsport, there are three historic covered bridges that are definitely worth a visit.
Cogan House Covered Bridge and Buttonwood Covered Bridge, both built in the late 1800s, are located to the north of Williamsport and just over 11 miles apart.
Lairdsville Covered Bridge, also known as the Fraizer Covered Bridge, is situated about 30 minutes to the east of Williamsport. It was rehabilitated in 2011 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
These charming structures offer visitors a glimpse into the past while also providing some great photo opportunities. So why not take a drive through the countryside and marvel at these impressive feats of engineering?
Outdoor Things to do Near Williamsport
Located within the Susquehanna River Valley, Williamsport, PA boasts a great location for outdoor enthusiasts. If you’re looking to explore nature and all the beauty it has to offer, you’re in luck! There are plenty of outdoor activities that will keep you busy for days or even weeks.
11. Band Rock Vista
If you’re in Williamsport, PA, and looking for a breathtaking view, you’ll want to check out Band Rock Vista. This famous spot offers stunning views of the Lycoming Creek Valley that will leave you speechless.
Historically, it is said that bands used to play music at this rock on Sundays. The whole valley was able to hear the tunes when this happened in the early 20th century. While you won’t find any live music performances there these days, the view is definitely worth a visit.
Just be aware that the road leading up to Band Rock Vista is quite narrow and not maintained, especially in the winter. If you don’t feel comfortable finishing the drive on the rutted dirt road, pull to the side and walk the rest of the way.
The vista is a short hike from the end of the road, so you won’t have to worry about a long trek back after enjoying the views.
Trust us, this is a view you won’t forget any time soon.
12. Susquehanna Riverwalk
Check out the Susquehanna River Walk & Timber Trail for a fun and scenic way to get some exercise. This 4.2-mile trail system offers walking and biking experiences for everyone, from beginners to pros, along both the north and the south sides of the West Branch Susquehanna River.
The trail is a paved surface, so there is no worry about the conditions after rain or harsh weather. It’s really easy to navigate and a worthy shorter option than the longer Pine Creek Rail Trail!
There are two bridge crossings, at Maynard Street and Market Street. You can create a loop between the two bridges or ride the trail out and back. Along this loop, there are signs educating trail users about the area’s lumber heritage.
As you explore, keep an eye out for public art inspired by Williamsport’s rich history, like “The Wood Hick,” a statue of a lumber camp worker.
Located right in the middle of Williamsport, the Susquehanna River Walk & Timber Trail is a great way to enjoy some fresh air and take in all that the town has to offer!
13. Pine Creek Rail Trail
If you’re looking to get out for a great bike ride while visiting Williamsport, check out the Pine Creek Rail Trail. The southern terminus of the trail is less than 20 minutes away in Jersey Shore, PA, and travels all the way north through the PA Grand Canyon.
This stunning trail spans over 60 miles and passes through some of the most beautiful scenery in the state of Pennsylvania.
This trail is also extremely popular for biking, and horseback riding is permitted on certain stretches. If biking is more your speed, we highly recommend an early morning ride along the trail.
The best part? You can access the trail at multiple points along its length, so you can make your trip as short or as long as you’d like. You don’t have to explore the entire 62 miles, even though it’s all beautiful!
14. Miners Run Falls
Miners Run Falls is a hidden gem near Williamsport, PA that is perfect for those looking to explore the great outdoors. The area is home to several stunning waterfalls, and this is just the first one we’re mentioning.
While wading in the creek can be challenging due to rocks and uneven surfaces, good traction footwear will make it easier. My Chacos are always my go-to for this in the warm summer months.
Come prepared with a map on hand as there isn’t a designated trail leading to these falls.
Miners Run Falls may not be ideal for inexperienced hikers due to the lack of trails and the creek wading involved. However, those who have some experience with outdoor activities will find this spot an enjoyable one!
15. Jacoby Falls
If you’re in Williamsport and looking for something to do outdoors, check out Jacoby Falls, just to the north of Williamsport.
This stunning waterfall in the Loyalsock State Forest is about 30 feet tall and cascades down rocks into a magical vanishing hollow. You’ll have to hike a little to reach the falls, but the trail is well-marked with yellow blazes. The entire hike out and back is a little over 3 miles.
The trail through the forest is beautiful and peaceful, with plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife along the way, so keep your eyes peeled
Jacoby Falls is best viewed after heavy rains or during the spring thaw. It is often reduced to a trickle during dryer times of the year.
If you’re looking for a shorter adventure to a pretty waterfall, Jacoby Falls is where you should go.
16. Lebo Vista
If you’re looking for a breathtaking view without breaking a sweat near Williamsport, head to Lebo Vista. This spot offers an incredible view of Pine Creek, all from the comfort of your car.
No need to worry about hiking or exhausting yourself – just drive right up. It’s perfect for those who want to enjoy a view without much physical exertion.
Lebo Vista is also a great place for photographers who want to capture some amazing shots of the landscape.
17. Dutchman Run Falls
Another stunning waterfall to add to your list of must-see attractions is Dutchman Run Falls. Head about 30 minutes to the north of Williamsport to the McIntyre Wild Area to find the 30-foot-tall Dutchman Run Falls.
While there is a trail that leads much of the way to the waterfall, be prepared for some off-trail hiking as you get closer. It’s definitely worth it though!
The area around the waterfall provides the perfect backdrop for a picnic lunch after you reach the falls. And if you’re feeling adventurous, there are several more waterfalls upstream of the main one that are waiting to be discovered.
There is another waterfall in the area, similarly named just Dutchman Falls. It’s about 45 minutes northeast of Williamsport, where you can explore some of the Loyalsock State Forest.
18. Hounds Run Falls
While you’re up exploring the McIntyre wild area, visit Hounds Run Falls. This hidden gem is also tucked away in the McIntyre Wild Area. It’s also just a short drive from the access to Miners Run Falls.
Unlike some of the more popular waterfalls in the area, there’s no trail at all leading to Hounds Run Falls. You’ll need to navigate right up the side of the stream to reach the base of this stunning 3 -tier waterfall.
But don’t worry, it’s not too difficult. Just come prepared with the right gear and footwear. It’s perfect for those who love a little off-trail adventure.
19. Rock Run
One more beautiful spot in the McIntyre Wild Area is Rock Run, so plan to spend one of your days in Williamsport exploring this nearby natural area if you love the outdoors.
Rock Run is located on the edge of the McIntyre Wild Area within Loyalsock State Forest. This one is frequently featured on lists of Pennsylvania’s most stunning streams. It’s easy to see why as soon as you begin exploring.
As it makes its way to Lycoming Creek in Ralston, Rock Run cuts a deep channel through the bedrock and creates three smaller, but still stunning, waterfalls along the way.
You will have to do a little off-trail exploring to get the best views. Although the falls are not extremely high, take extra caution around the cliffs and rock edges.
20. Worlds End State Park
About 45 minutes north of Williamsport, you’ll find Worlds End State Park. The park is situated in a picturesque area with lots of trails, streams, and forests to explore.
The biggest draws of the park are its waterfalls and vistas. You’ll find several waterfalls along the Double Run Nature Trails. It’s a great hike, but also a cool little photography spot.
If you’re up for some hiking, then you’ll love Worlds End State Park’s 20+ miles of hiking trails. There are trails available for all skill levels, so it’s possible to enjoy anything from a leisurely walk to a challenging hike.
The Canyon Vista Trail is our favorite. It’s a great loop, provides a challenging little climb, and the vista has a great view of the creek and below.
The park also has plenty of opportunities for fishing and swimming at the designated areas within Loyalsock Creek. There are campsites available if you want to spend several days, but some of them are pretty close to Route 154.
21. Golden Eagle Trail
If you’re looking for a challenging and rewarding hike, the Golden Eagle Trail is about 45 minutes from Williamsport.
This nine-mile hike beginning in the Wolf Run Wild Area of the Tiadaghton State Forest is one of the best hikes in PA. You’ll be treated to stunning views from 4 scenic vistas and sparkling streams along the way.
But be warned, this trail presents some challenging elevation gains. So make sure you’re prepared before you set out on your adventure. This is not a gentle walk in the park.
There are also some hazards that you need to be aware of prior to hiking this trail. A plant called stinging nettle, which can significantly irritate the skin, lines the trail for a few miles along Bonnell Run. Cover your legs by wearing pants and taller socks on this hike!
You should also be aware of wildlife along this trail. Rattlesnakes are often seen along the trail, so keep your eyes (and ears!) open! Insects like mosquitos can also be a problem during the warmer months in the stretches near water, so insect repellant is a must.
Unfortunately, there is no longer camping permitted overnight along the trail due to increasing bike traffic and new efforts to protect some of the more fragile plant and animal life in the area.
22. Old Loggers Path
If you’re in Williamsport and looking for a multi-day hike, the Old Loggers Path is the perfect spot. This 27-mile trail through Loyalsock State Forest offers stunning views and can be customized to fit your abilities.
The Old Loggers Path showcases central Pennsylvania’s diverse landscapes, blending hardwood forests, streams, and meadows. Moderate in difficulty, it caters to both novice and experienced hikers.
For backpackers, the trail has plenty of designated camping spots along the way.
Beyond its natural charm, you’ll find remnants of the region’s logging past lining the trail. The loops make it versatile for day hikes and perfect for quick multi-day escapades.
What sets the Old Loggers Path apart from other hiking spots is its variety of terrains and vistas, but the terrain is not the most difficult that we’ve encountered in Pennsylvania.
23. Ricketts Glen State Park
Although about 45 miles east of Williamsport, Ricketts Glen State Park is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
If you’re looking for an invigorating hike, Ricketts Glen’s Falls Trail is a 7.2-mile loop featuring 21 breathtaking waterfalls!
The hike crosses some rocky terrain, which can be challenging in some areas. Make sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes and maybe even bring hiking poles to help navigate the uneven, natural rock stairs.
The Falls Trail is hands down one of our favorite hikes in PA, especially in the spring when the waterfalls are really flowing.
In addition to hiking, visitors can also enjoy fishing, camping, and swimming in Lake Jean located within the park. There are several picnic areas throughout the park where you can enjoy a meal surrounded by the beauty of nature.
If you’re interested in photography, visit Ricketts Glen during autumn when the trees burst into vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow.
This is one of the best waterfall viewing spots in Pennsylvania, and it’s less than a one-hour drive from Williamsport!
Things to do in Williamsport, PA with Kids
Williamsport, PA is a great destination for families with kids. There’s so much to see and do that it can be hard to decide where to start! If you’re looking for things to do in Williamsport with your kids, we’ve got you covered.
While there are plenty of things on this list already that are kid-friendly, many of them are outdoors. These are a couple of things to do in Williamsport indoors with kids.
24. Kaos Fun Zone
If you’re looking for a place to have some fun with your family, especially on a rainy day in Williamsport, Kaos Fun Zone should be at the top of your list. Exciting activities cater to kids of all ages.
Here you’ll find trampolines for bouncing around, laser tag to get your adrenaline pumping, a 12-lane bowling alley for some friendly competition, and an arcade filled with various arcade games.
A golf simulator will entertain some of the adults while the kids burn off some energy. Your kids will never want to leave – and neither will you!
Afterward, enjoy a delicious meal at the Scorz Bar and Grill restaurant right inside the venue.

Head on over to Treasure Castle Playland and let the kids burn off some energy while you relax with a cup of coffee in their comfortable seating area.

Williamsport has a great craft beverage scene that promises to keep you entertained and “hydrated”. There are plenty of amazing bars and pubs to choose from in Williamsport, each with its unique charm, atmosphere, and drinks.

26. Local Breweries
Williamsport has some great local breweries! These places are not only known for their delicious beers but also for their hospitality. They’re the perfect spots to hang out and some good food and drinks.
We highly recommend visiting some of the breweries in the area, especially New Trail Brewing for IPAs and Bullfrog Brewery for their wild ales.
We especially love New Trail Brewing. The atmosphere is fun, the warehouse taproom has plenty of room to enjoy the brews, and many selections support local state parks and outdoor initiatives.
Therapy Brewing and Bald Birds Brewing Company are a little further outside of town, but both are cool places. Each of them has its unique charm and atmosphere. You’ll be welcomed by friendly staff passionate about craft beer.
27. Nomad Distilling Co.
Locally owned and situated on the edge of town, Nomad Distilling Co. offers small-batch artisanal spirits.
Their tasting room is cozy and inviting with a rustic charm that perfectly complements their specialty drinks. You can try signature co*cktails or request a flight of their spirits to discover your new favorite drink.
